Weekend Musings. Sunny King happened this weekend. Damn they put on a big event. Congrats to everyone involved and all those who raced including the big fella (hope you're all good, mate). Moving on. Secret intelligence (Strava) picked-up on a significant amount of activity South of Smashville, which can only be interpreted as a number of 2015 Hell of the South recon missions, or, quite possibly, double-coupon day at the Lewisburg Cracker Barrel. Early return is the mad scientists at HoS designed a course is w/pain and beauty at a premium resulting in what will assuredly be a spectacular day of racing. A 21 mile loop with 3 nasty bumps and equally treacherous descents, long slogs into what could be amazing head/side winds, and if there's rain, oh sweet baby Jesus. Marshall, Sir, you have created a monster. Chapeau, my friend. Sat. April 11th, 2015 Hell of the South Registration for #HOS is now open Sunday, Apr. 12th, Cedar Hill Criterium *Cedar Hill Criterium's Treasure Chest:

"Then he pulled on his pimp hat for the P/1/2/3 race and held onto that bull for a full hour. Chapeau to you my friend.” - Brian, you got a special kinda scribble going on there, and we dig that! Keep doing yo thang, boi. See you next month! http://egopbsammysbikes.com/hell-south-cedar-hill-crit/ “feeling comfortable as the field thinned from about 90 to 30 riders….launched a bit early into the sprint and was swarmed in the final 200 meters, and finished 10th.” You had’er dialed-in for sure..we would like to recommend fine-tuning your approach just a hair..this year go with just one double Ellison #boom http://texasroadhousecycling.com/2013/04/07/patrick-odonnell-takes-a-win-in-nashville/ They’ve won so many times here, we may as well call it the Cedar Hill/TXRH Criterium, ah….but not so fast my friends...Village VW… they’ve been very busy this offseason! There’s also a strong possibility of some foreign mavericks who may try to steal your top spot. Whatever the case, gonna be awesome fun and hard as nails racing - Good luck! http://teamwesports.com/2014/04/01/race-reports-hell-of-the-south-cedar-hill-criterium/ “At the last hill, attacks happened on the left and right, creating a massive sprint finish.” - Love the passion. We Ladies, keep bending those cranks and needles! Gonna be a good one this year! http://www.jacksonvelosports.com/cedar-hill-criterium-2014/ “There are a few mild hills and 2 turns on a good road, making a really nice race course.” …well, Tom Gee, that dude is just amazing. Rumor has it he did a 400k recently, to SOUTH freaking CAROLINA. Go on with yo bad self, Tom. We can’t wait to see that fitness in April! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grKYP9kFMn0 Resident beer drinker, watt-bomb5k, posted this vid shot from the trunk of the pace car....not bad for 6 or 7 beers and a bag phone *note:you may want to take a motion sickness pill before watching this. https://unsettledme.wordpress.com/2014/04/ "Cedar Hill was tough, and had a lot of climbing for a crit, but I was ready. Asheville isn’t the easiest place to ride with a standard 53/39, and I had been training for this. I kept waiting to blow up, but I never did. I attacked. I covered. I worked. I also hid for the last few laps, because I wanted to test out my new legs at the finish. And they didn’t let me down. I got 4th. Stoked. Sh0p Kitty, you’re such a inspiration. Thank you for bringing all things fun and stoke to events! Hold onto that passion and know that Big Uni watches over you. #Boston. You lucky devils. http://sadlebred.com/january-2015-news/ "Hell of the South and Cedar Hill have teamed up again for the first full weekend of TBRA RR and Crit racing, . Hell of the South offers gritty, Belgium style racing with less than ideal roads and typically early season cold, damp conditions. The following day Cedar Hill promises to be fast and thrilling. Over the past two seasons this race has grown to nearly 400 entries and is quickly building a reputation as one of the premier races in all of the southeast. “ Thanks, Saddlebred, we like our pals at HOS, they put on a kick-ass race and help make our double race weekend one of the best.…they also drink almost as much beer as we do, so we have that in common too. 5:00am.Good Morning (inhales coffee).
Last's years Introduction to Bike Racing and Skills Clinic was a such a tremendous success with nearly 50 cyclists attending the 4 hour skills clinic! Our spirited ignored the clouds and focused on 3 areas of cycling. packriding, pacelining, cornering, and each group spent 20-30 minutes discussing then 20-30 minutes practicing the teachings. All workshops included a focused element of bike safety, preparedness and confidence building. The clinic ended with a a review, certificates of completion, photos, goodie-bags provided by the Madison-Rivergate Chamber of Commerce & PowerBar, and hot pizza and drinks! Check out more photos here! 2015 - We're excited to announce the return of our bike skills clinic for cyclists who are interested in a hands-on experience to learn more about bike racing.
